We didn't enter a contest. We just showed up, every day, for fifteen years — and the city noticed.
Yes! Weekly just released the results of Triad's Best 2026, their annual reader's choice awards and the biggest of their kind in the region. Winners are decided by public vote, not a panel, not a publicist — just people in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and the rest of the Triad picking who they trust.
This year, Deja Vu took home three wins:
#1 Best Tattoo/Piercing Studio in the Triad. The shop, as a whole — every artist, every piercer, everyone who's walked through our doors at Hanes Mall since 2010.
#1 Best Tattoo Artist — Jonathan Castillo. Jonathan's known for versatile black-and-grey and color work, with a real specialty in anime and pop-culture pieces that people have been asking for at shops across the Triad and not finding anywhere else.
#1 Best Body Piercer — Adrian Sheppard. Adrian brings a calm, professional approach to every placement, with the kind of steady hand and honest aftercare guidance that keeps people coming back.
Why this one matters
We've bee
n open seven days a week since 2010 — Sundays, Mondays, slow weeks, busy weeks, all of it. That's not a slogan, it's a track record. This award is what a decade and a half of that looks like from the outside: not a claim we're making about ourselves, but something Winston-Salem decided on its own.
What's next
If you've been thinking about a piece, a cover-up, or your next piercing, now's as good a time as any. Book with Jonathan, walk in with Adrian, or come meet the rest of the crew — we're at Hanes Mall, open every day.
